About Dr. Alaina Gelineau - Chiropractor
I started chiropractic school because I was fascinated with the body and how it functions. I have long believed in the fundamental idea that, given the right circumstances, the body can and will heal itself. This tenet is the basic premise of chiropractic and the reason I chose it as my profession.

A year before I was to finish school, I became pregnant with my first son, Jack. We had a very challenging labor and after he was born I started to notice that he had certain persistent postures that were not resolving with traditional chiropractic care. When he was two, he was not sick for three weeks out of the whole year. He caught pretty much any germ that drifted in his direction, and they all tended to settle into his ears. He ruptured each of his ear drums due to recurring infections. When he was four, we enrolled him in soccer. He couldn’t run very fast and got winded very easily. He literally couldn’t run very well because of the way his body was aligned.

I felt powerless as I watched him grow. Even with the tools and training I had, I couldn’t help him. I took him to several other chiropractors over the years, but the way his body was growing he was on a one way road towards a pretty significant scoliosis. I started to lose faith in the very profession I had chosen as my life work.

In the summer of 2016, I met a doctor from Boone, who utilized a different approach to chiropractic that focused on restoring balance to the curves of the spine. He helped me to assess Jack and put a corrective care program together for him. We did corrective visits with him three times each week for three months. I watched him change before my eyes. He stopped getting sick all of the time, he was running faster and longer, and I knew I had found my calling.

I started reading and studying as much as I could about this technique and implementing what I could with my existing patients. I started seeing my patients get better and longer lasting results from my care.

In the spring of 2017 I went to Boise, Idaho and got my certification in Chiropractic Biophysics. I decided to move my practice to Asheville so I could bring this work to more people in our area.

After seeing my son’s transformation, I am on a mission to not only help people get out of pain, but to transform their lives, to course correct to a better future.
